[FNPS Board and Council of Chapters meetings 13 August 2016]

Saturday, August 13, 2016 Location - Florida FFA Leadership Training Center (Future Farmers of America) 5000 Firetower Road, Haines City, FL 33844.

Check in time for those spending the night at the FFA Center is 3:00 on Friday, 12 August.  Sign in for Saturdays meetings begins at 9:00 a.m., with General Assembly beginning at 9:30.

Board members, Council of Chapters, and committee chairs please post your reports.  The BOD meeting is scheduled to begin at 3:00 and COC meeting is scheduled to begin at 4:00.  There are exciting things being accomplished and there will be much to discuss in the sessions before those meetings. 

Please let Catherine or Juliet know if you have topics for the BOD Meeting Agenda that you wish to add and confirm/advise if you have motions to present.

Finance Committee:

Please take time to review the attached Donor Policy which has been reviewed and edited by our pro bono attorney.  There is also a Motion attached to accept the Donor Policy and we will be voting at the board meeting.

There has been discussion of whether the Donor Policy applies to FNPS only or the chapters as well.  This is something we will need to clarify at the board meeting.

RE: Donor Policy

Hi Devon
Are the policy guidelines used by the state only or the chapters too?
If chapters, would it be more clear, to state "FNPS and Chapters"
I assumed just the State Level; althoug, of course the guidelines are useful for chapters.

Regarding the monetary levels ffor FNPS Board approval under " Donations and Bequests".
Must local chapters adhere to this guideline, or again, is this policy for just the state BOD?

MOTION: To accept the Conference Committee's recommendation to hold the 2017 Conference at Westgate River Ranch Resort and Rodeo on May 17-21, 2017.

MOTION: To pay the required deposit to enter into a contract with Westgate River Ranch Resort and Rodeo as the location of the 2017 Conference.

MOTION:  Approve proceeding with grant application to the Duke Energy Foundation for FNPS Habitat Restoration Project in City of Clermont. This application is due August 31st.
