Report attached.  Note that with the exception of nominations, none of the action items are part of the core Council responsibilities.

[Conservation Committee Report & Conservation Award recommendation for BOD action]

•   The Committee recommends that the Board approve the amount of $4800 to Thomas Greene for labor to remove competing species in wet prairie areas of the Point Washington State Forest.
•   The Committee recommends that the St. Thomas University project be funded for $1900 if there are available funds. If funds are not available, then we recommend funding through other sources or possibly a special appeal to chapters and members.

There were no applications for the Dan Austin Ethnobotany award. This is the second year that no applications were received. We will need to contact the award sponsors and assess the merits of keeping this program going, or modifying it to attract more attention.

Finance Committee did not meet in March.. No report.

[Policy and Legislation Committee Report]

The Policy Committee report for this meeting is comprised of the attached Draft Overview of the 2024 Legislative Session, and a letter submitted to Governor DeSantis requesting a veto of Senate Bill 1645.  Please do not share the draft overview until it has been finalized.
