b. October FNPS Members Retreat - update, facility, cost, registration info
c. Working draft of updated FNPS handbook is available. Two versions are posted with these materials, a "clean" copy that is readable and one with "track changes". The two should have the same content, but I thought the "track changes" version might be useful for anyone wanting to know what has changed. Proposal to create an ad hoc committee to seek BOD and member comments and review/comment/refine the draft such that the updated handbook could be presented to the BOD for approval at the November meeting.
7. NEW BUSINESSa. New chapter - Pine Lily - request for approval if paperwork is complete
New chapter - Sweet Bay - request for approval if paperwork is complete
b. Proposed new geographical distribution of chapters. We've added two new chapters and three more are coming, so people living in counties without chapters may have close chapters than those listed on the web site. A proposed new chapter distribution is attached.
c. Proposal to host grass substitutes big Q&A/open to the public event about saving water by reducing lawns and what to do in place of lawn - discussion and possible action
ADJOURNMENTThe BOD meeting will be at the Tibet-Butler Preserve near Orlando. There will be ample opportunity to walk into the preserve (swamp and low flatwoods) after the meeting. This is a wonderful natural oasis.
