I'm really excited about this meeting and our hosts are looking forward to having us visit their favorite stomping grounds!  Please look this over and e-mail me with any proposed additions.

Notice the Chapters section early in the agenda.  Putting it on the agenda, and early on the agenda, is an idea that stemmed from our last meeting.  We'll try to keep it under control time-wise, but if your chapter has unmet needs, wants the advice of others, or has something to share, this is a great time to do it.

Hi All, Here is the DRAFT contract for an Executive Director. It is a compilation of the scope of service worked out last spring and the contract form we use for other contracted services.

Please look it over carefully as we need to be sure that the deliverables listed are pertinent for the coming year, or that the type of activity listed is what we actually want from an executive director.

It may be appropriate for us to adjust the scope if the officers and board recognize the need. Bring your suggestions to the meeting, or reply here before Wed Oct 25 (so I will have time to check your suggestions before the meeting.)

Hello BOD,

I would like to suggest that we list the functions and responsibilities, section ll, of the Executive Director contract in prioritized order. That is, which functions do we consider most important and so on down the list.  All are exactly as written in current document...just rearranged for priorities.  If you have other thoughts please bring them to the meeting or post a reply here. This is my prioritized list:
1. Provides guidance and coordination for event and program planning.

2. Provides oversight for operations of the Society, including administration, organizational coordination, and development activities.

3. Supports, facilitates, and integrates the projects of the Society committees to maximize their impacts.

4. As liason, clearly articulates the society's vision to the public and membership, and promotes appropriate linkages with partner organizations, advocacy entities,  and governmental officials at all levels.

5.Prioritizes activities in accordance with the Society's strategic plan and mission, and facilitates revision and refinement of the strategic plan over time.

6. Plans for, and coordinates programs that implement the Society's strategic plan in a manner that optimizes results in relation to the resources of the Society.
