Three proposed motions for BOD action:
FNPS Chapter Support Checks Motion
Chapter Support checks are often not cashed resulting in time and money spent by FNPS through volunteer time of officers, accountant services, and administrative contractors. In addition, if a chapter does not cash a Chapter support check within 90 days the funds will automatically be returned to the FNPS general fund.
Motion: Beginning June 2013 –Chapter support checks returned to FNPS or Chapter support checks not deposited within 120 days will automatically credited to the FNPS general membership fund.

FNPS Timing of Chapter Support Checks Motion
To save time and the expense of quarterly checking writing and account management Chapter Support checks will be distributed semiannually instead of quarterly beginning in 2014.
Motion: Beginning in 2014, Chapter Support checks will be issued semiannually instead of quarterly. Payment for 2014 fiscal quarters 1 and 2 will be paid in June 2014 and 2014 fiscal quarters 3 and 4 will be paid Jan. 2015.

FNPS Use of Endowment Fund Investment Earnings for Science Research Grants Motion: Dividends and interest earned during the calendar year from the Endowment Fund investments plus contributions for the Science Research Grants will constitute the amount that may be awarded for Science Research Grants. Unused Science Research Grant funds will be carried over to subsequent years.

FYI-On May 2, 2013 A notice was sent to FNPS GEL Chapter Treasurers to file an e-postcard (Form 990-N) or information return (Form 990 or 990-EZ).  Chapters that participate in the FNPS Group Exemption Letter Program (GEL) are required to file.  2-Chapters Ixia and Pinellas responded they filed their required form. One to change contact. I left this info out of my report. Kim
