FNPS Financial Summaries
Note Hershkowitz & Kunitzer completed the Jan. through June 2013 statements. The 2013 statements together with the 2013 Budget updated with June 2013 YTD have been posted on the FNPS forum.
NEW BUSINESS
Proposals were received from three firms to conduct the 2012 FNPS audit and future audits. Proposals varied in price and slightly in the proposed tasks. In summary, the firms proposed amounts were Ella Boll, CPA ($10,000), Berman, Hopkins, Wright and LaHam, CPAs, and Associates, LLP (Berman Hopkins) ($8,500) and Sovereign CPA Services, LLC and Thomas Edgley, Sovereign CPA Services, LLC ($5,800). The VP of Adm. and President were copied on the proposals. All firms are qualified with Berman Hopkins audit service experience being more diverse in the number of large and small Florida nonprofits. I recommend FNPS engage Thomas Edgley, Sovereign CPA Services, LLC to conduct GAAP audit services for four years at $5,800. As we are behind in our 2012 Audit process, I recommend we ask the Board of Directors to vote online for FNPS to enter into an engagement letter with Sovereign CPA Services, LLC.
Draft 2014 FNPS Budget
On 6/27/13, I sent a draft budget to committee chairs, officers, and the executive director requesting input from committee chairs for next year’s budget. As of today at 11:35 a.m., 7/25/13, I have received all but one committee budget request. It will take time to incorporate the latest data; I will try to post the draft 2014 budget ASAP. I’ll bring paper copies.
Bottom line: Let us concentrate on mission spending with a balanced budget. We need to review a couple of technical glitches in our contracts as the current contract language affects our 2014 budget planning and the outcome of our audit. In addition, motions in our minutes are not clear on some budget items another audit concern.
Chapter Support and Direct Deposit
In progress, I am trying to make it possible to direct deposit Chapter Support payments.
