In Person and Online Meetings

There is no substitute for in person meetings, especially in the formative stages of the Chapters Council. When we want to talk together, but can't travel, group texting and video conferencing are options. One such is Google+ Hangouts. I believe it is free.

Texting is possible and might be pleasant, in that you can read and respond when you can and want to. Here is a promotional video of the texting (among groups of friends):

Google+ Hangouts also has video conferencing capability, where you see the participants across the bottom of the screen and the speaker enlarged talking live. There is another promotional video of Hangouts video conferencing.

I also watched a #MashTalk (Mashable) video that included some stills and video among a group of five discussing the recent Google anniversary. Perhaps it best shows the potential for Google+ Hangouts for video conferencing:

I'm new to this. Not pushing a solution. Not in a rush. Just thinking out loud about what might work for us.

Looks like GoTo Meeting will be available to us. (According to Julie's recent email.) That would be great and probably replace the need for Google Hangouts.
