1. Proposals for the Endowment Research Awards are due March 2, 2007. None have been received to date, but I have had several inquires from individuals interested in applying.
2. Abstracts for the Science Track sessions at the annual conference are due March 2, 2007. Four have been received so far and others are expected.
3. I have invited Dr. Albert “Bud” Mayfield to submit a paper to The Palmetto on the Redbay Ambrosia Beetle and he has agreed to do so. Dr. Mayfield will be speaking at the Annual Conference in Gainesville. The USDA Forest Service is preparing a webpage on the issue, and Dr. Mayfield will provide a link when it is released
